Creating a Great Morning Routine
Welcome back to Sage Space!
This week, we’re diving into what makes a great morning routine—and it’s different for everyone. For me, it’s about rising early enough to enjoy some quiet time, walking the dog, and catching up on the headlines before the day gets hectic.
When I have a big task in front of me, I always try to tackle it first thing in the morning. That can’t happen however without a super strong cup of coffee. For those who know me, that first cup is one of life’s simple joys!
Wishing everyone a great start to the day and a wonderful week ahead.

This week…
Set a daily intention
Setting an intention each morning can help you better align your actions with your values, stay focused on your priorities, and, most importantly, get excited about the day ahead, instead of dwelling on every task you need to complete that day.
This doesn’t need to take up too much of your time either! Spend 5-10 minutes setting a short term goal that you are aiming for that day. By doing so, you are making yourself more present in each moment, taking actions, and making decisions that directly align with your daily intention.
Get moving!
Exercise is best whenever you can do it consistently, but moving your body in the morning specifically provides additional health benefits. First, it kick starts your metabolism and then it actually drives you to make healthier choices throughout the day.
According to a study published in Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise, individuals who worked out in the morning had a clear decrease in desire for unhealthy foods, when compared to the same group of individuals on a day they did not exercise.
Make mornings fun
Kids get out of bed faster when they know something fun is in store, so do the same for you.
Plan for a favorite activity in the morning...whether it’s talking to a friend or family member, doing a puzzle or taking your favorite walk. Find something to look forward to first thing!
Fun fact!
Did you know - About 46% of people press the snooze button more than once when waking up?
Quote of the Day
“Every day is a chance to begin again. Don’t focus on the failures of yesterday, start today with positive thoughts and expectations.” - Catherine Pulsifer
